How to play Gidi Life

1. Open Gidi Life

On the web: go to gidi-life.com.ng and press ▶ Play free. Type your phone number, enter the code we send by SMS, and create a PIN. Next time, your number and PIN get you in.

2. Create your Lagosian

Pick a handle (your @name in the city), tell us your age group, choose your look, and choose how your story starts: silver spoon or self-made. Players aged 13 to 17 start the teen story instead.

3. Follow "Next up"

The map shows what to do next: a hustle shift, a job, school, a party. The first day walks you through the basics.

4. Look after yourself

Keep an eye on your energy, mood and money. Eat, rest and pay your rent: a Lagosian with nowhere to sleep is in for a rough night.

5. Move around Lagos

Choose how to travel: danfo, BRT, keke, okada, ride-hail or the trains. Each has its own price and speed. In the danfo, play the conductor game and shout your stop in time.

6. Move up

Save up, learn a trade, get a better job, rent a better place, buy a building or land and build your house, and open a business.

7. Play with people

Add friends, chat and call by voice, host or join parties, and help each other out. Invite your friends with your invite link.
